Lynne Ramsay’s short film was shown on BBC2 last night. Produced by Warp Films and commissioned as part of the Olympic festival, it follows a lone swimmer on a journey through open water accompanied by an ambient soundtrack that includes samples of dialogue from films such as If…, Lord of the Flies, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, etc. The visuals are beautifully shot in black and white, and the whole film is mesmerising.
